Imagine what God can do...A Capital Funding Appeal for Mission
Lutheran Church of the Resurrection

The current mortgage is hindering Resurrection’s freedom and ability to grow and expand our ministry. Just imagine what God can do within us, through us and for others if we had up to $14,500 available each month that is now being used to pay our mortgage.

By giving generously to the “Imagine What God Can Do Fund,” initial gifts and three-year pledges will pay the current mortgage and directly reduce principal, thereby freeing up funds for additional ministry and mission opportunities. With additional funds to pay down the principal, we also have the option to refinance our loan periodically with the Mission Investment Fund to create an even lower monthly payment.

The immediate result will enable the congregation to free up funds needed to call an Associate Pastor and sustain the new pastor’s salary and benefit package at approximately $100,000 per year for the next three years (this includes pension and health, FICA and continuing education). In addition, funds will be available for:
  • Hiring a Communication Director
  • Providing additional hours for our maintenance staff
  • Establishing a ministry reserve fund.

By the end of the three years (2016), the mortgage payments will have been reduced to $7,000-$9,000 per month, allowing it to be absorbed once again by the Annual Budget while sustaining the funds needed for the Associate Pastor and other ministry needs. Reaching these levels will depend on a number of factors, including changes in Resurrection's attendance and giving and interest rates. If at the end of this appeal we are not able to absorb the mortgage payments into the operating budget, we may need to do another appeal.

“Now to him who by the power at work within us is able to accomplish abundantly far more than all we can ask or imagine.” (Ephesians 3:20)

Generous response equals Mission Freedom! Thanks be to God!
